There will come a time when we look back on 2008 as the year that ended a decade not unlike the “Roaring Twenties.” We thought the fun would never end. I don’t think of myself as a decadent person, but circumstances conspired to expose me to some really varied and incredible wine that I now seem unable to live without. Not necessarily expensive wine, but often the good stuff comes with a mind-bogling price tag.
Gaiter and Brecher, wine columnists at the Wall St. Journal,(you may need a subscription to view this article) sympathize. Their list of the most delicious wines of 2008 includes a bottle for $10.95. (It also includes one for just under $2,000.) Here’s a quick rundown—
