Southern Living Covers Flight Wood Grill in January issue

December 27th, 2008 · 3 Comments

It’s a two page spread in the Carolina Living section. A nice article. So why do I feel as though they missed the unique essence of Flight? Well, Southern Living does not like unique for one thing. (I can say that with some authority having worked for SL many moons ago.) It likes Southern! I think it’s fine to promote our culture and heritage because it’s becoming more diluted by the day with all these newcomers moving into town and some feel we need to clutch what we got left! (Cue the music – Way Down south in Dixie.)

Check it out and let me know what you think. If you have trouble leaving a comment, I’d like to know that, too. Email me flightwoodgrill@mac.com.

I’m so glad Flight is not completely “Southern,” especially in ambiance. “Southern” seems unhealthy to me these days. But if you want shrimp and grits, go to Mama Dips. Or if you want chicken and dumplings, go to the cafeteria. I love the atmosphere at Flight and the interesting, fresh menu. I especially love the martinis!

CONGRATULATIONS!! I’m really looking forward to reading the article!

The more restaurants I dine at, the more I appreciate Flight! And I mean that.
