Argentina Comes To Flight Wood Grill

October 1st, 2008 · No Comments

When we, Nan and Don Jennings and Sam and Nancy Neill, went to Argentina, one of the wineries we visited in Mendoza, the Napa Valley of Argentina, was Mendel. It was beautiful in an old Italian kind of way. The tasting room was an old carriage house furnished simply with an antique pine table for tasting groups. Nothing like some of the other vineyards that offered state of the art tasting areas in, for instance, a giant pyramid. The wine master, Santiago, a young man with a most serious demeanor, spent some time in showing us the old vines and serving his wines. He told us he came to Charlotte once a year and we opined that Asheville, only a couple of hours away, was worth the sidetrip. And so, he came! Not only to Asheville, but to Flight.
