Water, water, everywhere, but what to drink?

A “water sommelier?” Yes, it had to happen. And, Time Magazine documented it. Water is being “paired” with steak or fruit or whatever based on its TDS’s. Total Dissolved Solids. Yum, doesn’t that sound tasty. All I know is that I cannot abide Dasani and I prefer our mountain water to almost anything else.

Alice Waters (that is her REAL name) of Chez Panisse is refusing to serve bottled waters, opting instead for a carbonator, for those who like it fizzy, which is not good for your bones, but serving it all in a carafe so that it’s special. Why? All those plastic bottles are not good in the landfill and plastic, especially when heated emits toxins, but, wait, that’s a different post. The main reason is the ridiculous amount of fuel it takes to transport water from Fiji or such places when we have incredible water right here. In fact, it was disclosed recently that several water companies have bought land here in North Carolina and are digging for water. In response, Senator Tom Apodaca sponsored a bill which has passed the house, making it illegal to call water acquired by digging “spring water.”

Bottled water outsells milk and is a close second to beer. Soda still reigns.
